I spent two weeks in Italy in July with a big focus on local food and recipes of each region. What I discovered goes far beyond typical tourist experiences: Italians are quietly keeping centuries-old traditions alive in their own kitchens and farms.

I have some random thoughts about my second trip to Italy this year. This is not  an AI-generated ode to the joys of Italy (I did, after all, visit myself) but rather a more sober look at the realities of traveling in Italy in summer. We all know that July and August are hot, humid, and touristy, but this was the month it suited my son to visit me in Portugal, and he had a plan: "Mom, I NEED to go to Italy" (note the need, not want!).

The conversations happening in boardrooms and family offices across America right now aren't about market volatility or tax strategies. They're quieter, more personal, and infinitely more urgent.
